Very Rare James Gardner Collectors Chest Of Drawers C1880
Here we have a very rare collectors chest of drawers by James Gardner London c1880.
As you can see the chest has great natural colour and patina.
James Gardner was naturalist to Queen Victoria and had a Royal Warrant.
The chest is of the finest quality and was previously a specimen collectors chest.
The drawers retain their original bun handles ( one has piece missing as pictured ) and have exquisite fine hand cut dovetail joints
Naturally it has wear associated with age, use and from a previous working life, and is completely unrestored, the decades of use really does reflect on its authentic period charm
The drawers no longer have compartments
Dimensions are approx:
47H x 37W x 21.5D cm
Internal drawer dimensions approx:
30 x 18 cm
