Description
Antique Tall Edwardian Oak Two over Four Chest of Drawers Tallboy, c.1910 Handsome tall Edwardian oak chest of drawers, c.1910, offering generous country house storage and a lovely warm honeyed tone. The classic two over four configuration provides two shallow top drawers for smaller pieces and four full-width graduated drawers beneath, all fronted in well-figured quarter-sawn oak with attractive medullary ray grain. Original oval brass plate handles (later patinated) sit neatly to each drawer, with keyholes to retain the period look (no key). Standing 1344 mm high and 1250 mm wide, this is a substantial tallboy that still feels elegant, raised on turned bun feet with a simple moulded plinth and top edge. The oak shows the expected scuffs, marks and age character from over a century of use, giving a relaxed, lived-in feel ideal for modern interiors. Perfect as a bedroom chest, landing or hallway storage, or to add vertical interest and warmth to a pared-back, neutral scheme. A practical, honest Edwardian piece ready to go straight into service.
