Art Deco Walnut Figured Ladies Wardrobe
Art Deco Walnut Figured Ladies Wardrobe
c. 1930s — Beautiful Figured Walnut, Original Fittings & Elegant Deco Lines
This attractive vintage walnut ladies wardrobe showcases the warmth, depth, and striking grain patterns that make walnut furniture of this period so desirable. The book-matched walnut veneers across the doors create a dramatic mirrored effect, framed by softly rounded Art Deco edges and a bold central pilaster that gives the piece real presence.
The wardrobe stands on shaped bracket feet and has aged gracefully, with the walnut retaining a rich glow. Light marks are present as expected for its age, though these do not detract from its beauty or functionality. A small, historic chip near the bottom left hinge is noted but remains purely cosmetic.
Both doors open smoothly and lock securely using the original working key. The right-hand door is fitted with a full-length mirror, making the piece as practical as it is elegant.
Inside, the layout is simple, spacious, and highly usable:
Right side: a fixed upper shelf with a clothes rail beneath—ideal for shirts, shorter garments, or folded storage above.
Left side: a full-height clothes rail for longer items such as dresses and coats.
The wardrobe retains its original maker’s label: “Durable Suites Ltd”, a testament to its quality British manufacture.
Dimensions: Width: 122 cm Depth: 55 cm Height: 192.5 cm
