May I introduce ‘Betty’ and ‘Boo’
These girls are solid pine and were originally handmade around 40 years ago. I have stripped them back to their bare bones and hand painted with Frenchic, Steaming Green, which is a soft smoky green with blue undertones. This shade is definitely one of my new favourites and I love the way the tones change in different light.
I have given the tops a lime wash and sealed with wax which gives a lush, buttery texture. The insides have been whitewashed with white and clear varnish and the base, shelf and drawers have been lined and sealed with a white/gold/grey marble effect paper.
The handles have been replaced with gold coloured hardware giving a modern yet traditional look.
I have added the furniture transfer ‘A Bird Song’ by Redesign with Prima I’ve used this transfer before and absolutely love it. It’s just so elegant.
Although these were originally made to be used as bedsides, they are versatile girls and would look great as a pair or singles in any room of the house. Hallway, dining room, living room or even in a bathroom, or my favourite…little drinks cabinet!
