Black Chiffonier Sideboard
A sleek and elegant Victorian style mahogany Chiffonier sideboard with two drawers and lockable cupboard space with one full width shelf. Solid hardwood throughout and built to last.
The original Red mahogany finish was looking dated and scuffed. I decided to enhance the gothic feel of the piece by using black with subtle gold detailing.
To begin, I cleaned the piece with sugar soap and warm soapy water. Next, I primed with Dixie Belle Slick Stick and Zinsser Bin. I applied three coats of Shabby Chic Liquorice black followed by two coats of Polyvine satin varnish to seal and protect. The decorative corbels were then given a light coat of antique gold to highlight the details. To finish, I hung a decorative key tassel.
Perfect piece to use as a drinks cabinet.
