This solid wood coffee table can be found in the Ancient Mariner ‘Mahogany Village’ range. The piece has been hand crafted in Indonesia using responsibly sourced raw materials. Note the hoof feet, Queen Anne style legs, waterfall edged top, decorative drawer fronts and rich mahogany grain.
The coffee table has been hand painted in Annie Sloan ‘Athenian Black’ Chalk Paint and Freddie has been hand painted in Winsor & Newton Acrylic. The piece has then been lightly distressed and finished with clear wax to seal and protect the paint. Chalk paint is a decorative paint known for its matt, chalky appearance. You can see the deliberate brush marks, wax application and areas where it has been hand sanded and buffed.
There are occasional knots in the mahogany wood surface but this will not have any impact on durability and strength. Wood lives on in the furniture and it breathes and moves over time so minor movements that may occur are totally natural.
