Early 20th Century Oak Bureau with Fitted Interior & Carved Base
Early 20th Century Oak Bureau with Fitted Interior & Carved Base
A handsome and practical vintage oak bureau, beautifully grained and raised on an impressive carved base with claw and ball feet.
The fall-front opens to reveal a well-arranged fitted interior, offering a series of pigeonholes and small drawers above a generous writing surface — ideal for correspondence, paperwork or discreet storage.
Below are two drawers furnished with original brass tear drop handles.
The oak displays a rich, warm patina, highlighting the natural grain throughout.
Below, the bureau stands on a carved apron with bold claw and ball feet, giving it presence and character beyond the ordinary.
There is a small crack to one of the legs, however this is stable and does not affect the solidity or sturdiness of the piece. It remains strong and entirely usable.
The top shows evidence of four small historic screw holes, suggesting it may once have had a bookcase or upper section. This does not detract from its function, and the bureau stands perfectly well as it is — a versatile and practical standalone piece.
A characterful oak bureau offering excellent storage, attractive proportions and timeless appeal.
Bureau comes complete with key.
