A handsome and generously proportioned chest of drawers with a total of eight drawers, each fitted with matching brass handles. The drawers glide smoothly and offer excellent storage, making this a fine blend of practicality and presence.
Crafted with elegant proportions, the piece is designed in three sections (base, mid, and crown), allowing for ease of movement and transport despite its impressive stature.
Condition Notes:
• A repair has been carried out to the second-longest drawer on the upper section, left side – stable, no movement.
• The crown shows a small slither missing to the right flank near the back, plus a fine split to the front, again with no movement.
• Some veneer losses around the central base section, which have darkened sympathetically over time.
• One area of raised veneer was previously tacked, now stable.
Overall, this chest remains a solid and striking piece with an appealing, time-worn patina. Its imperfections tell the story of age and use, while its stature and craftsmanship ensure it remains a centrepiece in any setting.
