Hello, thank you for visiting my listing for this two drawer vintage chest.
It's possible to see a model number but its not known who the manufacturer was. The date is estimated from the label and the style and shape of the piece.
It is a clean chest of drawers, I used my usual methods and sugar soaped everything before I started the paint work.
I also created a sample board to make sure I had enough practice with the faux malachite paint effect before I committed it to the furniture!
I removed the original handles and back plates, which although they had been rusty, cleaned up well with brass restorer and Brasso product.
I used Annie Sloan chalk paints throughout the whole process. The base layers for malachite are Provence and Old White, sanded back and lacquered. The effect is created with a thick coat of Amsterdam Green on top of the base layer, and it's then lacquered for protection and shine. There are videos showing the making of this on my social media accounts under Paint Kitchen Workshop. I can also send the images I have of the work in progress.
Th faux malachite paint effect was used for the drawer fronts and top pf the chest of drawers.
For the outer casing I used Amsterdam Green, sanded back and protected and enhanced with clear wax. Again, you can see this on my videos and by requesting the images I have.
For the handles, I used gold flakes to give an antiqued distressed gold finish to them, the same applies - there are some interesting videos of this process.
I hope this covers everything as a description of this product - thank you for viewing my work, and for shopping sustainably from salvaged and reworked products.
