Heavily Carved Indian Teak Bench
Heavily Carved Indian Teak Bench
A richly decorative Indian teak bench of striking presence, showcasing intricate hand-carved detailing throughout. The beautifully pierced back panel and carved frieze lend the piece a distinctive character, complemented by traditional bun feet to the front.
A section of the seat lifts to reveal useful internal storage, making it as practical as it is visually appealing. The warm patina of the timber enhances the depth of carving and gives the bench a wonderfully authentic feel.
There is evidence of historic repairs and some old fretwork loss to the left-hand flank, consistent with age and use, though this does little to detract from its overall decorative appeal. The bench sits relatively low, adding to its relaxed, informal character.
A solid and sturdy piece that would sit comfortably within a variety of interiors — from eclectic and bohemian spaces to more traditional settings.

Good antique condition overall with age-related wear, historic repairs, and minor imperfections as expected. Structurally sound.
