Impressive Early Victorian Chest on Chest of Drawers
Stunning piece in lovely rich flame Mahogany veneer with stained pine sides to match. There has been quite a lot of damage to the veneer and some of the inlay, please see photos for the worst of it, but it’s only cosmetic and overall it looks great and is in good useable condition. The inlay escutcheons are all intact. The extent of the damage is reflected in the price. The previous owner rescued some old newspaper which had been used to line the drawers dated 1856. This has been preserved by laminating it and so we’ve left it in the drawer. All drawers lined with blue paper which is quite marked and worn. Drawers all open and close ok, although the top left drawer is a little stiff.
Dimensions:
Height: 198cm
Width: 116cm
Depth: 54cm
All widest point measurements. Comes in two pieces for transportation.
