Industrial 'rusty metal' paint effect bedside cabinet by Paint Kitchen

Hi, and thanks for stopping by.
This is a singular cabinet painted at my workshop in Accrington, Lancashire.
I acquire old furniture, usually destined for landfill, and make it into something not only useable but also likeable!
This little pine cabinet was in perfect working order, just needing a new look.
I applied a very thick base coat of my oldest and most dried out tin of Annie Sloan chateau grey chalk paint all over the outer surfaces, heat drying it and creating a raised texture before applying a mix of Annie Sloan old white, white chalk board craft paint, brown chalk paint and Annie Sloan graphite with a blob of black acrylic to make an aged metal look. This was done by blending and stippling all over the surfaces and carefully masking off the interior.
With the new surfaces all completely dry, I was able to add a tiny amount of brown chalk paint to the corners and edges and feet for the rusting effect, finished with highlights of Annie Sloan Barcelona orange chalk paint, making the rusty patina complete, before finally sealing everything with clear wax.
I staged the photographs in keeping with a metals/industrial modern theme, and I'm hoping that it will catch the eye of a stylish buyer looking for something unique and very contemporary in their home.

Thank you for looking at my work and supporting small businesses!
