A stunning example of  mid-Century British craftsmanship, this professionally refurbished Beautility Drinks Cabinet from the mid 1950’s blends function and style with timeless appeal.   Richly grained African Tola wood veneer encases a wood cabinet,  the sleek design and classic mid Century lines perfectly reflecting contemporary tastes and trends.   The cabinet has been carefully renovated – the original finish having been stripped, sanded and finished with a protective hard wax oil, enhancing its deep, warm tones and accentuating the natural beauty of the wood.  A durable, eco-friendly British made black mineral paint adds some stylish design touches.

At the centre of the cabinet is a pull-down cocktail area, featuring the original striped mirror base panel  - a distinctive Beautility feature that adds a touch of fabulousness and reflects the era's love for glamorous entertaining.  I have added a new mirror to the pull down door.  The interiors of the side cupboards have been hand-painted with an elegant ‘ghost’ stripe on the doors giving it a fresh yet sympathetic update that complements its vintage character.

The cabinet is both stylish and practical, with clean mid-Century lines, gently tapered legs with brass feet, and subtle brass inlay detail completing the look.  The original brass handles have been removed, cleaned and polished whilst the old hinges have been replaced with new solid brass ones.  The removable cabinet shelves have been painted in a durable gold and provide ample storage for bottles and glassware.  A pair of stylish handle-less drawers complete the storage.

I have rewired the cabinet with a generous length of flex to comply with modern standards and the original light with contact switch is present and functioning. 

Beautility is a popular British mid Century furniture brand and the pieces are highly sought after.  This item is of a particularly high quality, having needed no repairs.
