An impressive and beautifully made reproduction mahogany twin-pedestal dining table, of generous proportions, raised on two finely modelled triform bases and supplied with two additional extension leaves. The table is offered together with a complete suite of eight matching dining chairs, (two of which are carvers) creating a cohesive and elegant dining set.
The chairs feature attractively carved splat backs and are upholstered in a refined cream fabric, providing a pleasing contrast to the rich mahogany tones. All chairs are solid, sturdy, and comfortable, making them well suited for both everyday dining and more formal occasions.
The table itself retains a particularly attractive glossy surface, enhancing the depth and colour of the mahogany. There are two small white marks to the tabletop, visible in the accompanying photographs, along with a handful of light, superficial cosmetic marks commensurate with gentle use. The chairs similarly show a small number of minor surface marks and scuffs, and some sun bleaching to the wood at the backs of the carver chairs, again consistent with age and careful use rather than neglect.
Overall, this remains a handsome and well-balanced dining suite, capable of seating eight people in comfort, or up to ten when required. The inclusion of two extension leaves allows the table to be reduced in length when not in use, offering a high degree of versatility without compromising on presence or elegance.
A refined and practical piece of furniture, well suited to a traditional interior and equally at home in a more formal dining setting.
