A stunning and super rare set of vintage and mid-century furniture in four beautiful dining chairs by Ercol furniture. Each chair consists of a wooden beech back rest with two supports to the sides within the supports there are four super stylized cross stretchers that form the back rest, behind the stretchers there are two spindles. Each chair has an elm seat and sits on four tapered legs with cross stretchers running in between. Each chair has been hand coloured with the back rests and legs ebonised in a fabulous black and each of the chair's seats hand sanded back to the original elm then French polished that gives an amazing contrast of colour. The set has been hand crafted by Ercol furniture with the chairs model number 496. The chairs are more commonly known as batwing as the back supports to the chairs resemble the wings of a bat, each of the chairs has the Ercol kite mark underneath each of the seats along with the original blue Ercol labels to the back of the seats. The chairs are a really rare piece of Ercol furniture which you never see and are a fabulous pieces of vintage and mid-century furniture with a wonderful look and design that would suit any home or environment.
