Decoupaged Bow Fronted Cabinet With Drawers
A striking bow fronted cabinet with three extra deep drawers and cupboard space with one shelf below. Ornate brass hardware and splayed feet. There are locks on the drawers but the key is ornamental only and does not turn the lock. The doors are closed with a ball clasp. *Some minor dents to the sides conducive with the age of the piece.*
The cabinet has been cleaned, scuff sanded, primed and painted using Fusion Mineral Paint in the dark green/brown shade called Oakham. The piece was then sealed using Polyvine varnish to protect the paintwork.
The doors were decoupaged using a beautiful paper by Redesign with Prima called Chapelle Royal which pairs perfectly with the paint. This was sealed with two coats of Modge Podge varnish. I added bronze metallic highlighting to the top and base and refreshed the hardware to match.
The interior wood was treated with Pledge restoring oil including the drawer inners. The top drawer had some ink staining which has been stain sealed and painted over in a neutral putty shade.
To finish, I hung a bronze toned key tassel.
