An impressive and well-figured flamed mahogany secretary chest, combining generous storage with an elegant concealed writing surface. The rich flame grain is particularly striking across the drawer fronts and sides, giving the piece real visual presence.

The chest is arranged with six drawers in total, one of which is a secretary drawer that pulls forward to reveal a green felt writing surface and a series of internal compartments. All drawers run smoothly, retain their matching original-style handles, and are operated with a single working key.

The top surface shows only light discolouration, consistent with age and use, and retains a warm, attractive patina. The sides display the mahogany grain beautifully. There are a few small areas of minor veneer chipping to the edges, but nothing significant or distracting.

The chest stands on turned front legs with bracket feet to the rear, lending it both elegance and stability.
