Vintage Early Victorian Painted Pine White Housekeeper Kitchen Scullery Pantry Large Cupboard, c1830

Vintage Early Victorian Painted Pine White Housekeeper Kitchen Scullery Pantry Large Cupboard, c1830

A fine example of early 19th-century country house furniture, this Antique Early Victorian Painted Pine Housekeeper’s Cupboard dates to around c.1830 and remains a highly practical and decorative storage piece. This large pantry and scullery cupboard would originally have been the mainstay of a Victorian kitchen, used to store household linens, dry goods, and essential provisions. Its impressive proportions provide generous internal storage, with fitted shelving behind tall double doors, making it ideal today for use as a kitchen larder cupboard, utility room storage, or as a striking feature piece in a dining room.

The classic farmhouse character of this painted pine cupboard is enhanced by its panelled doors, clean lines, and sturdy build, typical of the utilitarian craftsmanship of the early Victorian period. Despite its age, the cupboard retains excellent structural integrity.

Large double quad fielded panelled doors, open to reveal fitted shelves interior with original period blue paint. Original iron hooks and unusual vertical iron shelf supports. The central frieze with two deep drawers, over a bank of four deep frieze drawers, original sycamore turned knobs, bracket feet. In two sections for use of installation.
