“Owls in the Spooky Woods” 1930s Writing Desk Bureau
Upcycled from an early 20th Century writing desk, this unique piece has been carefully cleaned, repaired and enhanced with owl and forest decoupage, original artwork, gold leaf, resin moulds and multi-layer paint. There are 3 good sized drawers with original metal handles. The claw and ball carved feet have been enhanced with gold leaf, as has the top drawer, which has also been given a 3d bark effect. The support brackets extend as the top is opened. All surfaces have been protected by a satin varnish.
Please note that most of my pieces are rescued from landfill and whilst I clean, repair and prep all pieces before upcycling, some signs of ageing and wear and tear cannot be fixed - I like to think these imperfections add to the character of the pieces.
