Antique Chair / Tub / Captains Chair on castors Rebuilt and Reupholstered
This victorian, upholstered Captains chair has been restored by rebuilding all the soft furnishings from the wooden frame up.
Replacement of the seat pad completely renewed with new spring ties, webbing and seat pad reconstruction. The back rest and arms have also been treated in the same way.
Covered with a vibrant kilim style fabric to regenerate this beautiful, extremely comfortable antique chair.
All 4 legs are on their original brass castors.
The woodwork has been treated to a good amount of wax polish to restore its shine and protect it from the rigors of modern home heating systems.
Additional dimensions to ensure clarity are:
Seat depth 58cm, seat width 55cm, seat height from ground 41cms.
All in all a really well built, very comfortable chair, restored back to its former glory but with a touch of modern design in the careful selection of the top fabric.
The footstool as seen in the last photo is available separately in another listing.
I aim to source / rescue quality furniture that just need a bit of tlc to restore them to their former glory. I only use high end fabrics to give a bespoke quality feel to each piece. Using such fabrics always enhances the design and makes the whole process so enjoyable for me to work with and of course, for you to enjoy.
NOTE. In order to comply with British Fire Safety Regulations 1988, all my re-upholstered furniture manufactured after 1st January 1950 are re-upholstered using fire retardant materials.
