‘Maroon and Gold’ Two Tier 1930s Shelf unit.

This poor wee table had had a hard life when I rescued it.  It was missing chunks of veneer and was badly scratched. I’ve done my best to repair it and return it to a useful piece of furniture.

Underneath the scored varnish I uncovered a lovely quartered Veneer top which I’ve repaired and enhanced with gold leaf stencilling.  Both shelves have been lined with burgundy fan detail paper which I’ve reflected in the top design.  All surfaces protected with a gloss varnish.
