Upcycled Large Hand Painted and Hand Sculpted SEAHORSE Pirates Ocean Coastal Blanket/Toy/Storage Trunk Box. Unique, RARE, One of a Kind!

One of a kind, vintage, hand painted and hand sculpted seahorse trunk.

Lovingly adorned with an abundance of moulds shaped to depict a cute seahorse - which is the main feature!

Lots of other details including a floral coral reef, kissing fishes and more seahorses.

Painted with a mix of deep blues, emerald green and turquoise Annie Sloan paint to portray a tropical ocean and enhanced with rust patina to give it a "salvaged from the sea" and "shipwrecked" look. 

Various distressing techniques were used to give it that organic aged look. Handles are original but made look rustic with lots of rusty drips. The whole piece was sealed with clear and dark wax and the clay moulds highlighted with white wax to bring out the details. Please note that this is not an antique piece, and signs of age may show, but it only adds to the character of the piece.

All my pieces are fixed and fully functional, sealed to last and all interiors are treated just like the exteriors painted, oiled, or lined to make them as pretty on the inside, as they are on the outside.

I have replaced the old hinges with top of the range, soft close hinges and added an antique look pirate, skull and crossbones padlock and key to compliment the look.

This large blanket, toy, storage box would suit a variety of home decor including coastal decor, beach decor, underwater or pirates themed rooms or simply as a unique piece of functional art and a talking piece in your home.
