Vintage Footstool. CC41 Newly Reupholstered in a Genuine Vintage 100% Linen.
This super sweet small wooden footstool is a CC41 original piece. The damaged rush woven top has been replaced with a stable wooden base and then foam pad placed on top. A schedule 3 wool interlined placed over and secured with calico. The top fabric is a piece of genuine vintage Linen with a bright floral design, in keeping with the era this little stool was originally made.
The well intact wooden frame has been painted in a mahogany shade of brown with a satin finish. Two coats of lacquer have been applied to help prevent scuffs and paint chipping. To complete, I've added a little steel stud to each foot to help it slide over carpet and reduce noise on wooden or stone floors.
I've really enjoyed refurbishing this little stool which will bring a pop of colour into any room and serve as a practical stool for resting your feet or sitting upon.
I aim to source / rescue quality furniture that just needs a bit of tlc to restore them to their former glory. I only use high end fabrics to give a bespoke quality feel to each piece. Using such fabrics always enhances the design and makes the whole process so enjoyable for me to work with and of course, for you to enjoy.
NOTE. In order to comply with British Fire Safety Regulations 1988, all my re-upholstered furniture manufactured after 1st January1950 is re-upholstered using fire retardant material, or contains fire retardant linings such as barrier cloth or wool as a liner / padding.
