Upcycled Art Deco Dressing Table with Mirror and Secret Compartments

Art Deco – Dressing Table

So here we have an Art Deco, vintage dressing table, that dates back to the mid Century, which has been uniquely up-cycled with love, down to the very last detail.

This gorgeous piece consists of two large drawers and two cupboard spaces, each containing one shelf. The magic of this piece, is on the top, at the back, where you will find two sliding, secret compartments, which really makes this piece special.

The entire piece has been stripped back, to get rid of the dark varnish that was previously applied. What's underneath is this gorgeous wood grain, which I simply couldn't cover with paint and needed to show it off, for its full beauty. I have complemented the wood grain with Coal Black Paint by Fusion Mineral Paints and used Antique Gold on the trims. This can also be seen on the inside of the cupboard doors.

The wood has been finished with Osmo oil, to really bring out it beauty and also make it hard wearing. The paint has been finished with multiple coats of Polyvine varnish.
